Redcurrant vanilla chili meat balls

As you have probably guessed by the title or other recipes on my blog, I love to experiment and combine different spices. This time I took a twist to a traditional recipe I guess everyone who eats meat has already eaten multiple times. But those meat balls are far from being your average ones! I used ground turkey as protein source and lower fat option and spice them with vanilla and chili. Combined with sour redcurrants your taste buds will be surprised and pleased at the same time. I served my meatballs with a broccoli and kale mash, some roasted root veggies and plantain spiced with thyme which rounds out the flavor of this dish.

Redcurrant vanilla chili meat balls/Johannisbeeren Vanille Chili Hackbällchen

Ingredients

  • 450 g ground turkey or beef/(Puten)hackfleisch
  • 75 g redcurrants/Johannisbeeren
  • vanilla, chili
  • thyme
  • salt, pepper
  • 5 g coconut flour/Kokosmehl
  • 1 tablespoon/EL water/Wasser

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients in a bowl and form little balls or patties./In einer Schüssel alle Zutaten mit den Händen vorsichtig vermengen und kleine Bällchen oder Laibchen formen

  2. Fry in a pan./In einer Pfanne goldig braun braten.
