Chocolate orange snack bars – paleo & vegan

I love eating these bars as a sweet dessert in the evening cause the fat fills me up while the chocolate layer which is made with yacon syrup* (lower glycemic sweetener and very good for your gut health, too) tastes even better than a piece of chocolate.

Bottom layer

  • 40 g coconut butter/Kokosmus
  • 15 g coconut oil/Kokosöl
  • 10 g shredded coconut/Kokosflocken
  • 1 tbsp/EL hemp seeds/Hanfsamen
  • 10 g pumpkin seeds/Kürbiskerne
  • 5 g flax seeds/Leinsamen
  • 5 g chia seeds/Chia Samen

Chocolate & orange top layer

  • 5 g raw cacao/Rohkakao
  • orange peel/Orangenschale
  • 40 g yacon syrup/Yacon Sirup
  • 10 g almond butter/Mandelmus
  • cinnamon/Zimt
  • walnuts/Walnüsse


Bottom layer

  1. Blend coconut butter, oil, shredded coconut, flax seeds and chia seeds in a food processor until smooth./Kokosmus, Öl, Kokosflocken, Leinsamen und Chia Samen in einem Hochleistungsmixer mixen bis eine Paste entsteht.

  2. Then ad pumpkin and hemp seeds and shortly blend again. You still want some chunks in there./Dann die Kürbiskerne und Hanfsamen dazugeben und nochmals kurz mixen. Es sollten noch Stückchen erkennbar sein.

  3. Fill into little forms and put in the freezer for 10 minutes./In kleine Förmchen füllen und für 10 Minuten in den Gefrierschrank geben.

Chocolate & orange top layer

  1. Mix all ingredients apart from walnuts in a bowl and put on top of the bottom layer./Alle Zutaten in einer Schüssel vermengen und auf die untere Schicht geben.

  2. Top with a walnut if you like and put in the freezer again for at least 20 minutes. I love to get them out of the freezer about 15 minutes before eating./Wenn du willst, mit einer Walnuss toppen und dann nochmals für mindestens 20 Minuten in den Gefrierschrank geben. Ich nehme mir den Riegel immer 15 Minuten vor dem Genießen heraus.
